Analyze This Class 4

What is a discourse community? Identify one you are a member of.

A discourse community is a group of people with common goals or values and communicate about these.  I am apart of several discourse communities.  One in particular is my graduate program cohort.  While not formalized, we share goals of academic and research achievement and discuss these on a regular basis. We share a common language and communicate to one another in ways people outside the cohort may not understand or fully relate to, simply due to jargon used.
